Manic Monday--Bait And Switch!

SPOILER ALERT: Because I care about the delicate condition of my readers' hearts, I wish to assure them...

...that this scene never happens in Public Defender In Action #11 (1957).

Oh, there's a story entitled "Fall Guy," all right. But nowhere in that story--or the five other stories--is a package mailed, or a bomb received at the Public Defender's office.

Oh, don't get me wrong--Richard Manning IS Public Defender In Action, and as these stories can attest, the life of a public defender is much more exciting than Law & Order would have you believe.

Sure, he's no cop...

...but Public Defender In Action is a man of action, with guns a blazing...

...beating the crap out of people who keep him from getting his "not guilty" verdicts...

...going to anonymous Soviet bloc nations to beat the crap out of spies (don't ask):

And whom do we have to thank for this type of gun-toting, fists of fire, tiger blood possessing public defender?

Thank you, taxpayers!

But still, when your cover promises the hero opening a mailbomb and going "W-Wha...", you'd damned well better give it to us, Charlton!!
