Best Cover Ever, Or BEST COVER EVER?!?

Shadow Annual #1 (1987):

Although to be completely honest, I do prefer the alternate color scheme used in this house ad:

The Shadow, first by Howard Chaykin, then Andy Helfer and Joe Orlando (!), then Helfer and Bill Sienkiewicz, then Helfer and Marshall Rogers, and then Helfer and Kyle Baker, was the most underrated and most unjustly forgotten series of the late 1980s. Bitter fruit, indeed...

For what it's worth, I agree. DC produced some pretty great Shadow comics for a while.

I also agree with you on this one being so underrated.
I knew nothing about the serial pulp Shadow of the 30's until I read this comic. It probably was the series that started my interest in the genre.
I was pretty impressed by Chaykin's take of the character in original mini-series, despite his tendency for over-doing the fetishism in it. I even managed to find DC's original poster ad for the series that was posted in comic shops at the time.
